Part 1

The most important thing you can do to insure a happy full relationship between you and your dog is to get involved with a dog obedience training program. A well trained dog will live a much happier life and so will its owner. If your dog knows its restrictions and what is expected of him/her it will become more reliable and you in return will give your dog more freedom. It’s a two way street.
When you are in public a well trained dog is a must. You are destine for trouble if you dog doesn't behave while around other people and other dogs. When someone comes to your front door it is a must to have established what good behavior is and what is not.
The first fundamental approach to a well trained obedient dog is to train you. Do a little homework on what kind of dog is best for you. Dogs are a pack animal and there is always an alpha dog in every pack and that is you. Learn what it takes to be an alpha dog. What are your living conditions? What is your daily routine? Just a few questions out of many you should ask before purchasing a dog.
After you have done your homework and decided what kind of dog you would like to live with its time to determine, where do I get a dog? The "pound", your neighbor, a breeder, or rescue one through the internet.
After you bring that little ball of fur home, if that’s the choice you made, the huge chore of molding that critter into a happy family member will began. The more educated you are on dog behavior and human behavior the easier and more fun the process will become. You will be a dog whisperer in no time.

Golden Retriever .....Calmo Dog of the Year ?

The Golden Retriever seems to be, to me, the dog of the year. It seems every day you see something in an advertisement, movie or the news. Example the movie Marley & Me or The world’s first cloned sniffer dogs have begun training in South Korea. I wish wish they would do a contemporary remake of "old yeller" The Golden Retriever is a powerfully built and well-proportioned dog . Best Known for its ease of training and obedience. The Golden Retriever is a friendly and sociable animal so it needs human interaction. Daily exercise and challenging obedience lessons and games keep this breed’s body and mind in top form. They make the cutiest puppies Thats just an oppinion because we all know all puppies are cute.
